Review
Kiki on Ludlow’s shio ramen is simple in the best way. It has only the essentials: chashu, a tea-marinated egg, green onion, nori, and rayu. At $13, it is an approachable bowl.
The chicken-based broth was flavorful without being too salty. I only wished it had been served hotter and that the overall portion had been a little larger. The unseasoned chashu was tender, and while the egg did not have much tea flavor, it was well marinated and delicious.
The highlight was the wavy noodles. They were cooked perfectly and had a great texture. I thought they might be homemade, but a waiter told me that Kiki uses Sun Noodles.
The restaurant has plenty of small figures and artwork throughout the space, which made the interior enjoyable. I also had a Kiki Lager. It was crisp, refreshing, and paired nicely with the ramen.
